Preparation
- Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ground Beef Mixture:
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, paprika, coriander, turmeric, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
3. Shape the Kebabs:
4. Divide the ground beef mixture into 4 equal portions. With wet hands, mold each portion into a long, sausage-like shape around a skewer. If you prefer, you can also shape them into round meatballs for a different presentation. Make sure the kebabs are tightly packed to prevent them from falling apart during grilling.
5. Marinate the Kebabs (Optional):
6. If you’re using the marinade, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Brush the kebabs with the marinade and let them sit for 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.
7. Preheat the Grill:
8. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are evenly heated. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
9. Grill the Kebabs:
10. Place the kebabs on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes, until the meat is cooked through and browned on all sides. The internal temperature should reach 160°F (71°C).
11. Serve:
12. Remove the kebabs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with a side of grilled vegetables, rice, pita, or a fresh salad.
